What is ITI, ITI Courses and Career Scopes after ITI
The full form
of ITI is Industrial Training Institutes which is a Government
Training sector and offers admission in college on merit basis and certificate
level courses and vocational training institute in technical course and
constituted under Directorate General of Employment & Training (DGET),
Ministry of Labour & Employment, and Union Government of India.
There are lots
of ITI College in Jaipur and India which provides good
facilities and training in technical courses. The student who has passed the
10th class is eligible for admission in ITI course. The ITI courses are
designed according to basic skill in the trade specified. The course duration may
vary from one year to three years depending upon trade opted.
After completion
of ITI course the person is also eligible to appear in the AITT test (All India
Trade Test) which is conducted by NCVT (National Council for Vocational training).
After passing AITT test, the student is awarded by NATIONAL TRADE CERTIFICATE
(NTC) in concerning trade by NCVT.
After completion
ITI they can pursue higher study in diploma engineering in ITI College in Rajasthan, India. Specialized short-term
courses for certain trades are also offered in Advanced Training Institutes
(ATIs) that hone the candidates’ skill. Many industries/ companies are hiring
ITI graduates only as apprentices and they train the candidates for a period of
6 months to 1-2 years.
However, the training
period may vary from one company to the other company. These ITI candidates may
be considered for employment only after the training period. The ITI qualified students
can apply for govt. jobs in either private sector depending on the trades they
are equipped with. Some of the trades that are much in demand are electronics
welder refrigeration and air-conditioner mechanic. It is worthwhile to mention
that electronics is the basis of almost every field. Therefore it has a very
good scope. Electronic mechanic trade graduates can find job opportunities in
IT companies and in manufacturing units of electronics equipment.
Both welders and air-conditioner mechanics have
good scope in India and abroad. Job openings of A/C mechanics are available in
the different govt. sections of the Public Service Commission (PSC) and in
railways departments where they will be employed as technician’s instructors
etc. Candidates with ITI electrician trade can find openings in the electricity
department for which the recruitment is through PSC (Public service Commission)

Students can also find job opportunities in government sectors like Indian Army,
Navy, Indian Air force, Indian Railways, Telecom and Paramilitary forces etc.
Last but not the least candidates can also be self-employed by setting up their
own winding shops garage fabrication shops etc.
